The Clay Heads - Make Your own Clay Creatures on a Stick
It is wonderfully straight forward and messy Autumn activity and there is no right or wrong - You need to get hold of some clay (we ordered some from here) - go on a nice walk to the park or woods and collect some sticks that you can pop your ball of clay on top of for the head - if you can find a stick with arms even better.

To create your little creatures, animals or goblins etc - you can pinch out bits of clay for the nose and ears, we added a few beads we had for eyes and I got totally carried away with glue gunning pompoms on.
I warn you though - it is quite addictive, the adults were there long after the kids had naffed off to raid the biscuit tin.

If you like natural play, then this book is lovely - We found these clay heads in it and added our own Red Hand Gangness to them!
